COURT: Yiu Chung-pui, you stand convicted on one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. You have pleaded guilty in the Magistrates’Court and have been committed to the High Court for sentence.

The quantity of drugs involved is 442.69 grammes of a powder containing 380.31 grammes of ketamine. For that amount of drugs, I willadopt a starting point of 9½ years’ imprisonment.

I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your early plea of guilty, your co‑operationwith the police and your clear record. I have also read all the letters and documents that have been handed up by your counsel.

All things considered, I am prepared to give you slightly more than a one-third discount, reducing the starting point to one of 6years’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment.
