COURT: Accused, I have taken into account everything said in mitigation on your behalf. The quantity of drugs involved is huge, namely,2.95 kilogrammes of a crystalline solid containing 2.91 kilogrammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride. These drugs were imported intoHong Kong.

All things considered, I adopt a starting point of 24 years, and enhance it by 2 years, making a total of 26 years. Having taken intoaccount everything urged upon me in mitigation on your behalf, there is really no real mitigation apart from your early plea of guiltyfor which I shall give you the full one‑third discount, reducing the sentence to one of 17 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 17 years and 4 months’ imprisonment.

Please refer to CACC48/2012 for the relevant appeal(s) to the Court of Appeal.
