COURT: Mok Pui-sze, you stand convicted on your own plea of guilty of one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The drug involvedis 27.22 grammes of a crystalline solid containing 26.83 grammes of methamphetamine hydrochloride.

For that quantity of drugs, I consider the appropriate starting point to be in the region of 7½ years.

I have considered everything urged in mitigation on your behalf, including your co-operation with the police and your plea of guilty.I shall give you the full one-third discount, thus reducing the sentence to one of 5 years’ imprisonment.

You are sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment.
