COURT: Law Man-sau, Leo, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

You had pleaded guilty at the Magistrates’ Court and you have been committed to the High Court for sentence.

The quantity of drugs involved is 0.34 kilogramme of a solid containing 0.27 kilogramme of cocaine.

For that quantity of drugs I adopt a starting point of 13 years’ imprisonment.

I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf. I have also read all the letters that have been handed tothe court.

In all the circumstances I am prepared to give you a slightly larger than one-third discount in this case reducing the starting pointto one of 8½ years’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 8½ years’ imprisonment.
