COURT: Chan Kwok-leung, you stand convicted of one charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

You have pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court and you have been committed to the High Court for sentence.

The quantity of drugs involved is 930.06 grammes of a powder containing 540 grammes of ketamine.

For that amount of dangerous drugs, I take a starting point of 11½ years’ imprisonment.

I have taken into account everything urged in mitigation on your behalf including your plea of guilty at an early stage and your cooperationwith the police.

I shall give you a slightly more than one-third discount thereby reducing the starting point to one of 7½ years’ imprisonment.

You are therefore sentenced to 7½ years’ imprisonment.
